Tracking changes in the PDB

The PDB server and its mirrors provide several lists. They contain

A list of all PDB entries that ever became obsolete is also available.

The PDBList.py script allows to download these lists easily. It also can download all new and modified structures. Thus, if run on a weekly basis (by copying it to /etc/cron.weekly under Linux), any local copy of the PDB will stay up-to-date.

The source code for PDBList.py will be included into BioPython soon.
